Do you know that if we drive from to Trat from Bangkok, it'll take us about 5 hours. But today, it is good that we flew. It took us only 45 minutes.
The airport has started operation since 2003 and nowadays it's used for Thai and international travelers. Trat is the easternmost island of Thailand.
'Koh Kood (Kood Island) is Thailand's 4th largest island.
There are many beautiful private resorts. I'm so thrilled to be here at Soneva Kiri, one of the most special places on earth I've ever stayed at. We've got our own gorgeous private villa!
I've been Klong Chao Waterfall before many years ago.
It is related to Thai Kings. We've got a long story, about 100 years ago. Thai Kings came here - King Rame V and King Rama VI, they've been here.
The name 'Klong Chao' means 'Canal of The Kings'. We've got autographs (Royal Initials) on the rocks as well, from King VI.
How do you come from around the island?
Actually, right now, it's very easy to visit this waterfalls. People can take kayak, boat, or you can come with a motorbike or car. Very easy. It takes 5 minutes to visit this waterfalls.
From Soneva Kiri on Koh Kood (Kood Island), we'll go explore nearby islands, starting from Koh Mak (Mak Island).
Koh Mak is one interesting place to visit because a lot of people call it Low-carbon Island. So here, they try to encourage local people not to overuse the energy and to produce their own energy from the nature.
Like in many places, they have solar cells installed, so they can generate electricity by themselves. And for activities on the island... no carbon dioxide. Something like biking, kayaking, sailing without motor.
People will not make noises. When you stay here at lot of resorts, accommodations, it's quite peaceful.
Many spots on the island have breathtaking view, just like the beach here, which is a few kilometer long. You can see, the shape is like crescent.
From here we can see some islands, like that one - just opposite us. That one is 'Koh Kham (Kham Island). Some people go there to snorkel.
You can see the whiteness of the sand, this is one of the great viewpoints in Koh Mak.
Just a 5 minute boat ride from Koh Mak (Mak Island) is a privately owned small paradise, Koh Kham (Kham Island).
With white powdery sand and crystal-clear seawater, Koh Kham is a very picturesque island.
It is the perfect place to relax by sunbathing, swimming, or just walking around on the beach which is so soft.
The island consists of volcanic rocks. Huge black lava rocks make the contrast with white sand and blue sea. A unique landscape that you should take some photos.
'Here we are at a medium-sized island in Trat, one of the very famous ones near Koh Mak. It is called 'Koh Kradad (Kradad Island).
This one is about 2 kilometre long and it's a private island owned by one family. So you have to pay a little entrance fee when you come here.
The thing I would like you to see is 'Deers'. Yeah...our friends are here already.
There are deers around the island.
The local transportation here is this big truck. And if you pay for the entrance fee, the ticket already includes the transportation fee.
So we're going around the island by this truck. It's really fun riding this tractor, and it's really really flat. You can see the sea from around. There are many coconut trees and some local flowers in white and pink.
As for deers, there many deers. Some say that it's almost a thousand deers on this island. Normally, they'll come out more in the evening.
Do you know that this photo has been taken over 100 years ago?
This is King Rama V or King Chulalongkorn of Thailand. His Majesty has been recognized as 'Travel King'. He's been all over the world including here in Thailand.
He came here over 100 years ago for the first time, but he has been here 10 times on this island. So, Koh Kradad is one of His Majesty's favorite places.
I think a lot of my friends who have been to Koh Chang have never been here or never heard about it, Bang Bao Village.
We can see a lot of colorful boats. There used to be a lot of fishing boats before. But nowadays, there are more travelers coming in, so most of the boats have been adapted into travel boats.
In the morning or some other time of the day, travelers come here to take a boat out to nearby islands for sightseeing, for snorkeling. And, they also have scuba diving.
That's nice. I like it with colourful atmosphere like this.
There is a new bridge and it's in white. If we walk a little bit more, we'll see the old bridge connected to local market.
When we go inside, there are some souvenirs for us to buy, like some local food. We can buy back home.
I've heard that they're famous for dry seafood, fish, salty fish, and shrimp paste. Something like that.
This is the best view point on Koh Chang (Chang Island). From here, you can see many islands around.
Those are little islands that are some of the 52 islands in Trat province. There is 'Kai Bae' (area name).
They also have a beach near here and a viewpoint here. This is on the west coast, the west side of the island. So you can come here any time of the day. Local people recommend to come in the evening time or in the afternoon because you can see the sunsets here.
Chang Islands National Park covers the areas of Koh Chang and Koh Kood district in Trat, consisting of islands of all sizes including numerous rock caves in the sea with Koh Chang as the biggest and most famous island 'Kai Bae Viewpoint' is in the west of Koh Chang, where impressive sunsets can be viewed.
From here, you can see 4 islands - Koh Mun Nai, which can be accessed by foot during low tide,. Koh Mun Nok, Koh Plee, and Koh Yuak.
There are small beaches to access the island and coral reefs all around for snorkelling and diving. Wow! Have you watched sunset in a lot of places in ASEAN (Southeast Asia)?
Actually, for humans, we love to watch sunrise and sunset. There are many points around the world, and in ASEAN (Southeast Asia) as well.
Hope you enjoy this trip, there're still more stories about TRAT.
