Have you ever tried local food in Vietnam?
Danang has a lot!
This looks so special. I've never seen this kind of menu before.
Noodles with Frogs. It is really special here, in Vietnam.
It was quite a little scary the foreigners, but it's so tasty. Trust me!
So, what is it made of?
The soup is from the pot where they steamed the frogs.
And they put additional ingredients like ginger, and some chilies to make it more tasty.
And, you have a lot of vegetables.
The one...I've seen it a lot of times. Banana Flower. It's truly special in Vietnam.
And some onions, peanuts, and lettuce.
And of course, this one... I like it...in Vietnam, I see this everywhere. Rice Noodles. Maybe they're different in some cities.
Firstly ,we put some vegetables on...and some noodles.
Now! The highlight!
We use chopsticks or spoons to get the frogs out.
And, pour some soup over.
The frogs tastes similar to chicken.
The vegetables are good. And the rice flour is very soft. It's really good, very smooth.
Another menu that is so special tonight!
They call it Rolling Rice Paper with Pork.
They always have a lot of vegetables, lettuce, cucumber, and bean sprouts...
And together, we are having it with the Rice Paper.
Get one layer of Rice Paper. So, stick it on. One layer.
You should make it like a cross, so you can put vegetables on.
The local people usually put the cucumber first, followed a bit of bean sprouts, and pork.
Then put some vegetables on until you feel enough.
Then, roll it.
And then, dip it in anchovy fish sauce.
It's quite strong. And, it's quite hot too because people put chilis inside. So, be careful.
It's GOOD and looks nice!
There are so many activities to do here in Danang. So, you have to recharge our energy a bit.
That's why I took you here — Bún chả cá 109 Nguyen Chi Thanh street.
This local food, it looks like noodles. But, it's different. This one, they made from fish.
They call this one 'Fish Ball Noodles / Fish Cake Noodles'.
When I say 'Noodles', it is ‘Bun' in Vietnamese.
This bowl contains lots of things.
Firstly, it's fish. We also have tomatoes. And...some vegetables.
Everywhere, we have this list - lettuce, bean sprouts, lime, chilli, shrimp paste, and red onions.
These things smell so good. I can't wait to taste it.
It is a little sweet, but not spicy.
I really love it. It's like it's purely fish. Not much flour inside.
A little spicy and the texture is really nice when you bite.
This is like a big sausage. The Vietnamese sausage made from beef, not pork.
They wrap it with banana leaves, and then steam it.
They also put some peppers inside.
So, we unwrap it and cut it off. Then, it becomes like this.
And Vietnamese people, they usually mix this sausage with garlic and pepper.
It makes the texture, you know.
And sometimes, they eat it with rice.
They made it into small pieces to put in rice soup...in cold weather.
And, you can put some seasoning on.
I love chilli, maybe I'll try more chillis. And...lime..every mean, we have food with lime.
The Vietnamese name of this is 'Wei'.
They take that and dip into the soup and eat.
And with 'La Rue'. They have the beer here, maybe you'll try together.
It's a local way, to drink beer with sausage.
It tastes quite different from all the sausages I've eaten before because all the other sausages are mostly pork. This one is beef.
Just tastes different. But, it's GOOD!
This is very local. Not just the food, but the way we sit.
This is by the street in Danang at night time.
So, you have this kind of food that local people come to enjoy.
And what have we ordered?
This is 'Spicy Snail’. Local people usually call it 'Oc Hut'.
And these are papaya, mango, and some coconuts.
I will show you how to eat it.
The bigger side should you put into my mouth.
But firstly, there's a layer. We should distract that.
And then we put that part away, then we eat the one inside.
I think you should try some mangoes and papaya on it.
It's good together. It adds some sourness to the menu.
So, people usually have it like this every night. It's open every night.
It's local food, easy to find on the street.
It's a lot of things, but we eat them together.
I love the container, the clay pot here. It looks so nice.
This is a traditional meal in Vietnam.
This one is really special because they cook in the pot.
I love this rice! They cook it longer, so it may be different.
Maybe I can show me how to eat it.
It's quite different from the normal one. We use the device like chopsticks.
So, we try to get the rice out.
And we put some in our bowl.
Just as much as we can eat.
I like Clay Pot Rice. A bit of everything together.
Minced pork with shrimp paste. It's so special.
We're by the sea in Danang. Of course, we have to try local sea food.
Music is so good as well here in the restaurant.
And, there're so many things. What are we having here?
They have the first one here, Seafood Salad.
It's special for Danang because of jellyfish.
It's so special here.
And it's made with some herbs like mangoes, carrots, and tomatoes.
And here is fried squid.
I smell some butter! Also garlic and chill.
Here's steamed clams.
For local people, they eat this very often.
I think this is very common here.
It’s a very special food journey.
Stay tuned for the next adventure to other Vietnam city.
